alfonso borragán

alfonso borragán's artistic practice is articulated between research, teaching, collective processes and performative action. Based in London, he studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and later continued his training at the MFA Slade School of Fine Arts in London, where he completed his PhD.

His work looks at and activates the relational systems that humans generate with the earth, mainly through collective processes and actions. His practice manifests itself in the fragility of collective processes and the ephemerality of action, as a latent image in constant change. His work methodology activates long periods of research related to the context.

He has developed and shared work in Spain, Portugal, Germany, UK, Switzerland, Norway, Canada, US, Colombia, Bolivia, Chile and India. His latest works have been shown at the Museo Nacional de Arte and CCELP in La Paz (Litofagos-Goalito); El Centro Botín in Santander (Halito); Emerson Dorsch in Miami (Bucarolito); Fundación Joan Miró in Barcelona (Alterbees); Kontejner in Zagreb (Daguerrolito); Plataforma Bogotá (Fosfofagia 04) and Khoj Artist Association, New Delhi (Fosfofagia 03).
