Américo Retamal Aliaga

The transdisciplinary work of Américo Retamal Aliaga (Chile, 1994) spans video art, music, documentary, photography, and performance, using audiovisual media and multimedia collage as primary tools. Through both collective and individual works, he explores and poetically reflects on how identity and our perception of the world are shaped by the history of technology and pop culture.

His music project Juegos Artificiales is part of the accessible stage piece My Mind Lives in the Cloud, which he co-directs and performs in. He is a member of the performance collective La Farmacéutica Nacional and works as a visual artist for bands and dance and theater companies, directing music videos and creating audiovisual universes for albums, stage productions, and digital platforms. His work has been showcased across both official and underground art circuits, in exhibitions and festivals, both in person and online.
