Gerard Ortín Castellví (b. 1988, Barcelona) holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Universitat de Barcelona, an MFA from the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam, and an MA in Artists' Film and Moving Image from Goldsmiths University of London, where he is currently pursuing a PhD. He has exhibited at the Fundació Joan Miró (Barcelona) as well as at Tabakalera (Donostia), Stedelijk Museum Bureau of Amsterdam, Office for Contemporary Art (Oslo), Open (Reykjavík), Seager Gallery (London), Vitrine (London). His works have been screened in institutions and cultural centers like LUX (London), Anthology Film Archives (New York), Zumzeig Cinecooperativa (Barcelona) or Numax (Santiago de Compostela). His latest film Reserve received the mention for best short film at the 42nd edition of the Festival Cinéma du Réel (Paris). He has worked with the Estrany-de la Mota Gallery in Barcelona and often collaborates with the artists and filmmakers cooperative Tractora.
