La Rara Troupe is an artistic collective coordinated by Chus Domínguez and Belén Sola, originating from audiovisual creation workshops at MUSAC (León, 2012–2016). The group encourages the participation of people affected by psychosocial distress or mental health diagnoses, reclaiming madness from a critical perspective. Their work—including film, video, and other audiovisual projects—is characterized by first-person storytelling and accessible technology, exploring diverse experiences and challenging social stigma.
Since 2016, La Rara Troupe has been part of the LAAV_ Association (Laboratory of Experimental Audiovisual Anthropology), producing site-specific works for museums and art centers while fostering collective creation and critical education. Long-term participants, including Nonia Alejandre, Alfredo Escapa, Abel Morán, Felix Lorenzo, Carlos Crespo, and Blanca Puente, form the core group active until 2025.
