Oscar Vincentelli was born in Ciudad Guayana, Venezuela, in 1989. Filmmaker and visual artist, he holds a degree in Social Communication and Audiovisuals (UCAB, Caracas), a diploma in Documentary Film (ECAM, Madrid) and a master's degree in Cinematographic Creation (Zine Eskola Elías Querejeta, Donostia). His work is a cross between documentary film, experimental ethnography and contemporary visual and sound arts.
His films O tremor, Lenda negra, Violeta + Guillermo and La Sangre es Blanca have been programmed at international festivals such as Locarno, San Sebastian, FID Marseille, Message2Man, FIC Valdivia, Malaga, D'A, Playdoc, Mar de Plata Film festival, Jeonju Film Festival. He was selected for the Berlinale Talents in 2020 and in the same year he was a beneficiary of the Spanish Film Academy residency with the feature film project Una vez fuego. The short film La sangre es blanca (The blood is white) had its international premiere at the FID Marseille, where it was also awarded in the Flash competition. The film was also awarded at the last Curtocircuito. Se van sus naves was presented at Tabakalera (Donostia) in the form of an installation and, based on this project, he is preparing a feature film of the same name.
