POST-OP

POST-OP (2003) is a transdisciplinary group that researches gender, sexuality and post-pornography from a queer transfeminist perspective. It was one of the first groups in Spain that began to infect public spaces, venues, nightclubs, squatted centers and museums with their dissident pornographic practices. Occupying the streets with their multigenerated, monstrous and mutant characters; making visible bodies, sexualities and non-normative practices.

Their work includes performances, workshops and installations, video creation and direct action. They are part of the transfeminist scene in Barcelona and work around the resexualization of public space addressing sexuality and gender from the notion of body and performance. Bodies, roles and morphologies appear as entities in transit that question the legitimizing order and propose non-essentializing sexual practices and genders.
With the will to renew the pornographic imaginary, where other bodies, so far excluded from representation, enter, other practices that allow to explore other things and that dynamite this anchored structure of desiring subjects and desirable/desirable subjects (or rather objects). Not only to renew the pornographic imaginary, but also to renew life imaginaries.

They have collaborated in various educational projects such as the Independent Studies Program of MACBA or those carried out for ASPAYM (Association of Spinal Cord Injuries and other functional diversities). Their interventions have been seen in centers such as the Palau de la Virreina in Barcelona, the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, the MUSAC or the Pompidou Center in Paris, as well as in festivals such as the Pornfilmfestival in Berlin or the Luff in Laussane (Switzerland). It is worth mentioning that their productions also focuses on issues of sexuality and functional diversity. In this field, the collaboration with the documentary Yes, we fuck or the design project of prosthesis and sexual orthosis 'Pornortopedia' stand out.
