Session #9 of Passar la tarda! Pelis i ocurrències
Monthly Program of workshop-meetings at marcablanca (Madrid)

Buenos días, España (Sara Pisos, 2017) is a portrait of the largest Hermandad de Antiguos Caballeros Legionarios that exists in Spain, based in Barcelona. Their meeting place is a former military barracks where, every Sunday, these men and women transform into their military alter-egos. Creeds and ceremonies marked by patriotism and discipline reveal an ideology that was thought to be outdated, but which continues to be cultivated in this space by those who were once trained for the Spanish colonies in Africa.
Sara Pisos studied Political Science in Santiago de Compostela and continued her studies at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. After spending a few years living in the Netherlands, she returned to Barcelona to study a Master's Degree in Creative Documentary at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
Happening → We are going to collect knowledge and anecdotes about the histrionic peculiarities of this kingdom. We will tell each other gruesome stories about what we have seen or heard, about what was and what could have been, and about what we might want. We will take notes to create a mini-fanzine about Spain. Drawings can also be added.
Location: marcablanca. C/ Manuel Noya 12, Madrid.
Date and time: 19th May, 20:00 h.
marcablanca is an independent space for resistance, reflection and editorial production in central Madrid. It houses a community library and experimentation printing workshop for artistic research.
