Ejercicios a Ofelia is a video-dance that explores the body's movement from two perspectives to create a sculpture in motion. Structured in three moments, following the style of synchronized swimming (position, immersion, and final figure), the sound mirrors the swimmers' need for air with breaths every 80 seconds, combined with the rhythm of the txalaparta and white noise. The piece arises from the desire to articulate a choreography based on the corporeality of the Lamia, a mythical Basque being that inhabits the river ecosystem. The artist names this being Ofelia, a reference to both Shakespeare’s protagonist and Millais' painting. The swimmers repeatedly articulate and deconstruct the pose to its limit, dissolving the boundaries between the collective and the individual, and evoking Lamia's embodiment in a gesture of coexistence and transformation.
