Hablemos del clima

Lucía Harari

Over several years, Lucía Harari recorded spontaneous conversations with Buenos Aires taxi drivers on her mobile phone — figures often known for their gruff demeanor but also for unexpected moments of poetry. From these anonymous voices, she composes a satirical and fragmented portrait of the city’s idiosyncrasies.

The piece offers a drift through urban speech, where language becomes both a mirror and a trench. In dialogue with Personal Instructions, a text Paul Auster wrote for Sophie Calle, Let’s Talk About the Weather explores talking to strangers as a small gesture of shared humanity. Blending humor, urban observation, and audiovisual essay, the work reveals an emotional landscape unfolding inside a moving taxi.

The piece received a special mention at the 4th Biennial of Photography and Moving Image in Bahía Blanca (2022) and was also presented at the Casa Nacional del Bicentenario, Buenos Aires.
