Todas las aves viajan hacia el sur [All Birds Travel South] is a short film built from photographs found in the author's family archive. Through a first-person narration, the work reconstructs experiences linked to the depopulation of inland Castile during the 1970s, as well as the forced exile many families endured as a result of Francoist colonial policies. By interweaving narrative and image, the short film delves into the memory of a wounded, nearly vanished territory, where remembrance lingers as a traumatic echo.

The images, fragments of a past pushed into oblivion, emerge like archaeological remnants: silent traces bearing witness to personal and collective stories erased by the passage of time and the violence of abandonment. All Birds Travel South elevates the importance of the archive as a means to revive what once seemed extinct —an intimate search to reconstruct a sense of belonging in the face of the void left by the disappearance of a landscape, a community, a home.
