Adrián Canoura (Burela, province of Lugo, Galicia, 1991) is a video artist and filmmaker. He trained in the audiovisual field at the Fundación TIC (EIS Lugo), in Audiovisual Production and Direction, followed by a specialisation in Camera and Direction at the Escuela de Ficción de Voz Audiovisual in A Coruña and later moved to Madrid to study the Master LAV: Laboratorio de Práctica y Creación Audiovisual Contemporánea (LAV: Laboratory of Contemporary Audiovisual Practice and Creation).
His films have been screened at numerous festivals around the world, such as Curtas Vila do Conde, Curtocircuito, Fibda, Fracto Berlin, Filmadrid, Nouveau Cinema, (S8)Mostra de Cinema Periférico, FICCI of Cartagena de Indias or Sao Paulo among others. In addition, his work focuses on live audiovisual creation for the groups Baiuca, Sen Senra and Guitarricadelafuente, among others, with whom he has toured the most important national stages, as well as different festivals around the world, such as Marrakech, Bogotá, Quito, Milan, Paris, Geneva, Mexico City, etc.
He is part of the NISTRA collective together with Anxo R. Ferreira, based in Burela, Lugo. Batuko Tabanka, a group of Cape Verdean workers who arrived in Galicia 40 years ago, participate in this electronic project.
