Within the Nistra Batuko Exploration project, where demographic interests and advanced music intersect, the Galician electronic duo Nistra decided to collaborate with the Cape Verdean women’s collective Batuko Tabanka, an African choir based in Burela, the childhood hometown of the group’s members. After composing two singles from natural recordings made with the collective, they decided to produce a short documentary to capture the essence of the project. The film connects the story of these women, their arrival in a coastal town in Lugo, and the life they have built there.
