Agustín Ortiz Herrera


Agustín Ortíz Herrera (Barcelona, 1970) studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona (1998) and Filmmaking at The New School University in New York (2003). After a period working as a scriptwriter, he returned to artistic practice by pursuing a Master of Fine Arts at Konstfack College of Arts, in Stockholm (2016). His most recent exhibitions include Altres Temps, The Green Parrot, Barcelona (2021), Ciència Fricció, CCCB, Barcelona (2021), Artificialia: WunderChapel at Loop Festival (2020), Oblivion at KROPP, Uppsala Konsert & Kongress (2019), Konst tar plats at Österbybruk, Sweden (2018), Potenciación a largo plazo at El umbral de primavera, Madrid (2018). He received the Barcelona Production La Capella grant (19/20) in the category of artistic research with the project Anomenar. Posseir. Crítica de la pràctica taxonòmica and the Nils Johan Sjöstedts Award in Stockholm (2016). He is currently developing the artistic research project "Future Forest Diorama" (21/22) in collaboration with CREAF and Scotswoman. His work Fungi Fantasi and their friends Crazy Bacteria, has recently joined the MACBA collection through the 2021 public competition.
