Manuel Vélez-Arboleda


Manuel Vélez-Arboleda (Manizales, Colombia, 1988) is a visual artist, audiovisual creator, curator, and cultural manager. He holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Caldas. His work moves between video art, experimentation with moving images, and the development of interdisciplinary projects. Through a critical lens, his artistic practice explores the multiple conditions that shape what it means to be human in today’s social context.

He is a board member of ACCAC, founder of the independent cultural space La Fábrica Terminal in Manizales, and director of the FESTICINERIO festival. He also curates the project Videos sobre ruedas and plays an active role in cultural initiatives that support emerging art in Colombia, with a strong commitment to young and upcoming artists.

His work has been recognized at both national and international film festivals and exhibited in venues such as ExTeresa (Mexico), The Chapel (Belgium), The Space (Netherlands), Casa de la Cultura de Cusco (Peru), Zapadores Ciudad del Arte (Spain), Parque Explora (Colombia), among others.
