Creciendo shows issues of representation of Chinese people in media and cultural content, which is steeped in the exoticisation and fetishisation of Chinese women. This occurs both in fiction, culture and imagination, as well as in real life. Verbal and sexual harassment occurs in many spaces, as Chinese women are reduced to and categorised under specific forms of existence. Creciendo ends with a call to convert the experienced pain and rage into politicised discourse.
