Rapa das Bestas explores the physical and symbolic intensity of the ancient Galician tradition of the same name, where wild horses living free in the mountains are gathered and guided to the curro, a circular stone space where their manes are shaved. Through an expressive and poetic gaze, the film allows us to witness the body-to-body relationship between man and animal in a ritual context of struggle. With it, the artist seeks to reflect on the duality between tradition and spectacle, between the ancestral and the contemporary, as well as the connection between man and animal.
