Albert Gironès


Albert Gironès (Valls, 1995) is a visual artist and researcher. His projects are based on processes of artistic research and intervention in reality. His artistic practice maintains interests in popular stories; rumorology; the extraordinary stories associated with certain places; and the relationship between science and mysticism; and investigates the mechanics of construction of imaginaries, the will to understand and the experience of the transcendental.
His work has been shown at Arts Santa Mònica, Centre d'Art Contemporani Fabra i Coats and Homesession (Barcelona), Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporanea (Valencia), Bòlit Centre d'Art Contemporani (Girona), AlbumArte (Rome), Galería Tsonami (Valparaíso), MADC (San José), Casal Solleric (Palma de Mallorca), among other places. He has received grants from Injuve, Hangar.org, Goethe Institut, Generalitat de Catalunya, Ajuntament de Barcelona and Sala d'Art Jove, among others.
He has held residencies at Fabra i Coats i Sant Andreu Contemporani (Barcelona), Kunststiftung BW (Stuttgart), Tsonami Art Sonoro (Valparaiso), Rad'Art Project (San Romano di Mercato Saraceno) and at Plattform Kyrkslätt (Helsinki 2019). He has also published works with publishers such as The Posttraumatic and Cossetània Edicions (Catalonia), Operaciones (Costa Rica) and Bruto Fnzn (Italy), and has developed educational projects at MACBA, EINA University, Idensitat (Barcelona), Universidad Politécnica (Valencia) and La Panera (Lleida).
