In an exercise of memory, Candela Cienfuegos elaborates a portrait, homage and reconstruction of a lost history through images.
My aunt Angelina died in July 2020. I named this piece after the color of her hair. I needed to tell my friends what she was like and how important she had been to me. I needed to process the grief after her loss. After several months of sharing this video publicly, I found two photos: one where she is with my mother that broke my soul. The other I found in her wallet. The summer my grandmother died I stayed with her to keep her company. We were all very sad. My aunt kept her mother's (my grandmother's) wallet and when she picked it up she said:
-In my mother's wallet there was never a lack of bitches, let's see if it will bring me luck.
When I took her purse I thought the same thing.
This documentary is about her.
