In ID copy Cande Lázaro wonders about the validity of the Identity Card when it is not in accordance with the gender identity of the person to whom it is assigned. They denounce how non-binary trans people in Spain face the violence of not being able to be identified as such. The DNI [spanish identity card] constantly reminds us of identity that we never decided to take as our own. There is a rising demand for the neutral option in the DNI, another way of treating and naming dissident identities, and a greater acceptance of those realities that go beyond the binary.
