Cuba, year 58 of the revolution. At Cambodia school, an exhibition is being prepared to celebrate Fidel’s 90th birthday, who, in the words of the principal, “will live to be 120.” In other words, he will never die, just like the revolution—an event that, once it happened, seeks to repeat itself endlessly, to perpetuate itself indefinitely. An array of epic narratives hovers over the many documentation and study centers, preservation sites, museum houses, and exhibition spaces dedicated to preserving the past as much as possible. Time is worked on with the dedication of someone who risks losing it forever.
