The search for a small monument dedicated to the International Brigades hidden in the mountains, historical reenactments, museums in former battle zones, the demolition of a Francoist cross under the law, an archaeological excavation. With the Spanish Civil War as its backdrop, Venceremos unfolds as a spiraling stream of times, places, and people, questioning the relationship between history and its representation. The film brings us closer to the contemporary need for memory recovery and the connections we establish with the material remains of the conflict.
